А в 1928 году избирательные права наконец получили все женщины старше 21 года.
Теперь Викторианская эпоха казалась далекой, как сон. Кошмарный это был сон или прекрасный, исполненный стонов портних или веселого смеха разряженных в шелка леди, – все зависит от точки зрения. Главное, чтобы те женщины, которые боролись или приспосабливались, выживали или, устало прикрыв глаза, погружались на дно, не канули в забытьи.
