Ïîëíàÿ ïàðàäîêñàëüíûõ îòêðîâåíèé êíèãà ïîñâÿùåíà åäâà ëè íå ñàìîé ïðîòèâîðå÷èâîé ôèãóðå â èñòîðèè ìèðîâîãî êèíåìàòîãðàôà. Ïîæèçíåííûé íîíêîíôîðìèñò, ñòàâøèé ìèëëèàðäåðîì. Íåíàâèñòíèê ðóòèíû, ïîäìåíèâøèé àêòåðñêîå ìàñòåðñòâî òåõíè÷åñêèìè ðåøåíèÿìè. Ïðîòèâíèê «áåçäóøíîé ìàøèíû Ãîëëèâóäà», ïîñòðîèâøèé êîìïüþòåðíóþ ôàáðèêó ãðåç. Îí âñåãäà âåðèë â ñåáÿ, íî ïðåâçîøåë äàæå ñîáñòâåííûå îæèäàíèÿ.Ëó÷øàÿ â ìèðå âåùü – ïðèêëþ÷åíèÿ â äàëåêèõ-äàëåêèõ ñòðàíàõ, îáúÿñíÿë Ëóêàñ îøåëîìèòåëüíûé óñïåõ «Çâåçäíûõ âîéí» è «Èíäèàíû Äæîíñà». Îí íå òîëüêî ñòàë àâòîðîì áëîêáàñòåðîâ, íî è íàó÷èëñÿ ñòàâèòü èõ íà ïîòîê. Äåëàÿ ñèêâåëû è íîâûå âåðñèè, îí ïðèäóìûâàë, êàê ïîëó÷àòü ñ ôðàíøèçû íà ñâîèõ ãåðîåâ áîëüøå, ÷åì ñ ïðîêàòà.Îí íå òåðïåë çàâèñèìîñòè è ïîòîìó ðåàëèçîâàë ëîçóíã ðàäèêàëüíûõ õèïïè èç 60-õ: «çàõâàòèòü ñðåäñòâà ïðîèçâîäñòâà». Íå îòáèðàÿ ÷óæîãî, îí «ïðîñòî» ñîçäàâàë íîâûå òåõíîëîãèè è òåõíèêó, ïðåâðàùàÿ ñòàðûå â íèêîìó íå íóæíûé õëàì.Çàõâàòûâàþùàÿ áèîãðàôèÿ âûäàþùåãîñÿ ìàñòåðà ðàñêðûâàåò ñåêðåòû åãî ôåíîìåíàëüíîãî óñïåõà. È ðèñóåò ñìåíó ýïîõ â ìèðîâîì êèíåìàòîãðàôå, ñëó÷èâøóþñÿ âî ìíîãîì áëàãîäàðÿ ãåðîþ ýòîé êíèãè.
